You Can Now Ask Siri to Ask Your AI Astrologer
A month into iOS 27, Hypergate AI and yap let the new Siri pass questions to their AI astrologers. Both are tiny apps; Co-Star, Nebula and CHANI haven't mentioned Siri, and the answers depend on each app's own AI.
A month after iOS 27 arrived, at least two AI astrology apps let the new Siri take questions for them. A Hypergate AI update on Sept. 16 added a setting that, once switched on, lets you say "Ask AERA in Hypergate AI" and have Siri pass your question to AERA, the app's AI astrologer. On Sept. 30, the astrology journal app yap followed with a one-line release note promising you can "Ask Siri anything from Yap without ever having to open the app."
When we looked at Siri and astrology on Sept. 27, the new assistant could tell you the current planetary hour but not your horoscope. Checking again, that line had already been crossed, just not by anyone large. Hypergate AI has 30 ratings on the U.S. App Store and yap has 142. Co-Star, with more than 200,000, has not mentioned Siri in any update, and neither have Nebula, CHANI or The Pattern.

Hypergate treats Siri as another door to AERA. The app comes from the astrologer David Palmer, who goes by The Leo King, and AERA is drawn as a uniformed woman standing in a starship hangar who reads natal charts and relationships and can talk by voice. The note under the Siri switch says Siri can draft and send questions to AERA, and that those readings draw on the same HyperChat allowance as questions typed in the app. It doesn't say whether Siri reads AERA's answer aloud or whether you go back into the app to see it.
yap says less, but its pitch shows what Siri is now handing questions to. The app is a journal aimed at Gen Z that logs mood, sleep and dreams against the day's sky, with an AI companion you can set to therapist, coach, astrologer, inner child or shadow self. In one of its store screenshots, a user asks whether it is a good time to start a social media career. The AI answers that a Sagittarius sun loves sharing adventures and that the user is in numerology's "personal year 5," a time for change.

That is a different job from last month's planetary hours. Then, Siri was reading out positions and times the app had already calculated on the phone. Now Siri only carries the question, and the answer comes from whatever AI the app runs. yap's own reviews show why that matters. In April, one U.S. reviewer said the app put their Moon in the wrong sign as soon as they entered their birth data; another said yap's chart did not match Astro-Seek or CHANI. A July reviewer said most of the astrology came from AI and leaned on a mandatory 33-question quiz. All of those predate the Siri update, and the store page doesn't say what has changed since.
Most of the apps adding Siri in mid-October are still calculators. Planetary Hours & Moon Phase 2.13 answers questions such as the current planetary hour or the best hour for love or money. Moony 2.0 added Siri shortcuts alongside new BaZi and Vedic charts. The Chinese charting app Moying added iOS 27 Siri shortcuts that open its Liu Yao and Qi Men charts, although Apple says the new Siri is not available in China for now, so its users can open a chart by voice but not discuss one.
The big subscription apps shipped other things. CHANI added a Charts tab for saving friends' charts on Oct. 12, The Pattern launched a new Lens view on Oct. 3, and Nebula's Oct. 15 update lists stability fixes. Co-Star hasn't updated since Aug. 1. None has said publicly why Siri isn't on the list.
Language is the other limit. Apple said on Sept. 14 that the new Siri would start as an English beta, with French, Japanese, Korean, Portuguese and Spanish following in October, and that it would not initially be available on iPhones in the EU.
So Siri can now pass your question to an AI astrologer. What it doesn't do is tell you whose AI is answering, or check whether that AI got your chart right.

Siri Can Tell You the Planetary Hour. It Can't Read Your Horoscope Yet
Two weeks into iOS 27, Siri handles astrology only in a narrow way: a few small apps let it answer what planet rules the hour or where the Moon is tonight. Ask about your day and it has nothing, because Co-Star, CHANI, Nebula and the other big reading apps have not plugged in.

Co-Star Has Called Itself AI-Powered Since 2019. Reviewers Now Say Its Horoscopes Read Like AI
Before and after Midjourney bought Co-Star, App Store reviewers kept saying its daily horoscopes are obviously AI-written: one sentence pattern, em dashes, repeated dos and don'ts. Yet the app has called itself AI-powered since 2019, and reviewers back then also complained about identical phrasing and gloom.
