This AI Astrology App Thought It Was Still 2023. Now It's Back

SINE shipped version 2.0 on Oct. 15, its first update since December 2024, with a new backend and tarot readings matched to the cards drawn. While it sat untouched, reviewers said its AI read their transits for October 2023, then the app stopped loading altogether.

SINE, an AI astrology and tarot app from Dream Voyage Inc., released version 2.0 on Oct. 15, its first update since Dec. 28, 2024. The release notes say readings, reports and dream interpretations now run on a new backend, and that tarot readings "now speak to the exact cards you drew."

The comeback is worth a look because SINE kept answering questions while nobody seemed to be maintaining it. From early 2024, reviewers said its AI was living in 2023 and reading their horoscopes off old skies. By spring 2026 the app would not load and subscriptions could not be renewed. Its review page reads like a log of what happens to an AI fortune app left on autopilot.

SINE put the usual astrology-app features into one chat window. Launched in December 2023, it offers daily horoscopes, tarot, a natal chart, compatibility with friends, dream interpretation and a shared wish wall, and you can type any question. It has 426 ratings in the U.S. store, averaging 4.6. Most reviews from early 2024 are five stars; one user said it had replaced paying for tarot readings.

The first complaints were about the date. On March 28, 2024, a five-star review in the Canadian store noted in passing that the AI in the astrology chat still thought it was 2023. That October, a U.S. user said the transits had not updated in a month and did not fit their May birthday. In December 2025, two one-star reviews were blunter: every question got transits for October 2023, and the AI could not say what today's date was.

SINE has not said what went wrong. The reviews describe something that looks like the app never passing the current date to the model behind it. Horoscopes depend on where the planets are today, so a wrong date skews every line that follows, yet the text still reads fluently and confidently. You would only notice if you checked it against a calendar.

In 2026 the problem shifted from wrong answers to no answers. Version 1.6.1, the last release before 2.0, listed two changes: bug fixes and a refresh button for buying stars. After that the reviews turned into a notice board. In February, a user said the app had disappeared from the App Store and come back, and the subscription could no longer be renewed. Between April 20 and 28, at least six U.S. reviews said it was stuck on the loading screen even after reinstalling, and one said there seemed to be no way to reach the company. In June someone wrote that several emails had gone unanswered. On July 4, a reviewer said every tarot pull ended in "retry."

The 2.0 notes read almost like a reply to that page. Besides the new backend and card-matched tarot, they promise compatibility scores that agree across the chart and every card, and a wish-wall counter that stays current. Back in 2024, users complained that the app sometimes dealt more cards instead of reading the ones on the table. In the store's preview video now, the "tarot master" answer walks through the Ten of Swords, the Ace of Wands and the Eight of Pentacles in order. The notes say nothing about the date, though, and by the morning of Oct. 16 in Beijing, version 2.0 had no reviews yet.

An AI fortune app that stops getting updates does not go quiet. It keeps handing out confident readings every day, just for the wrong day. Whether SINE now knows what day it is will be settled when its old users come back and ask.
