Folklore Spirits Open a Fortune-Telling Alley
Moonlit Fortunes gives each divination a shopkeeper, from a nine-tailed fox to a black cat. Their identities carry into the reading cards, with stories promised for returning visitors.
Moonlit Fortunes has recast its divination app as a lantern-lit Korean alley. Its latest redesign gives saju, face reading, compatibility and tarot their own storefronts, staffed by folklore characters who take human form.
The shop signs have faces to go with them. Yeoubi, a nine-tailed fox, holds a folded fan beneath the Face sign; Bami, a black cat appearing as a man dressed in black, holds cards at the Tarot counter. Granny Boksun occupies the saju shop, for readings based on birth date and time. Choosing a reading is presented as choosing whom to visit.

Bami stays with the reading beyond the shopfront. In the official three-card love spread, his portrait sits above Temperance, The Chariot and The Magician, assigned to past, present and future. The developer describes the 22 Major Arcana as painted in the style of Korean folk art. The sample Chariot places a black beast and a white one in front of its rider; lanterns and moonlight carry the alley's scenery into the cards.

Yeoubi leaves a different signature on the face-reading screen. The feature uses one photo to provide a face type and an avatar, according to the product description. Its sample result is labeled “My face, as Yeoubi sees it”: a Dragon Face card, illustrated with a dragon and framed by golden fox tails.
There is also a promise for regulars. The developer says that, with more visits, the shopkeepers begin addressing users by name and hidden readings and stories open up.
