The free calculator takes a birth date and an optional birth time, then displays the year, month, day and hour pillars alongside a percentage breakdown of Wood, Fire, Earth, Metal and Water. Leave the time blank and it marks the hour as unknown; the element balance is calculated from the other six characters. The calculator works without signup, and the site says it does not save what you enter.
In a test with a fictional 21 March 1992 birth at 09:10, the page returned 壬申、癸卯、丙申 and 癸巳, with Water at 45% and the other elements ranked below it. Repeating the date without a time left the hour blank and recalculated the five-element percentages. This lightweight calculator does not ask for a birthplace and uses the device's time zone. The separate 8 Signs app asks for the birthplace when making a fuller chart and is available on the web and Android.
The app adds chart-based readings across 15 life areas, compatibility between two people, and Seek, an AI chat based on the user's chart. Its free tier includes the chart, Discover feed, Connections and three Seek messages a day; Premium expands chat access and reading depth. The app has its own data practices, so the calculator's no-save statement should not be taken as a promise about information entered into the app.
